To help save you time and reduce some of your stress, we’re switching to a passive enrollment option.

 

What Is Passive Enrollment?

 

Unlike active enrollment, which requires you to take significant action to enroll in our benefits, passive enrollment requires minimal effort from you. With passive enrollment, you can simply check a box to reselect your previous year’s benefits choices. If you want to, you can opt to be more active and choose a different plan. If you’ve experienced life changes this year, you should carefully consider if your current plan will be right for you next year.

 

Regardless of what you choose to do, as long as you at least check the box, you’ll be enrolled in benefits for the following year. That way, you’re covered and prepared for whatever next year brings.

 

Is Passive Enrollment Right for Me?

 

While our passive enrollment option makes it easier and less stressful to enroll in coverage, you shouldn’t mindlessly check the box to reselect last year’s plan choices. As previously mentioned, sometimes there are things you need to consider. For example, if you had many health care expenses and had to pay money out of pocket with your high deductible health plan, you may want to consider changing your plan. Maybe you didn’t use any health care benefits, and you’re looking to save money. These two scenarios are examples of a situation where you may want to carefully weigh your options before re-enrolling in your previous year’s benefits.

 

Additionally, if you have had a life change, like getting married and adding your spouse to your health plan or having a baby, you should consider whether last year’s plan will work for you.
